September came and went in the blink of an eye, but not before leaving us with plenty of Spider-Man stories. Since Venom: The Last Dance is just around the corner, it isn't surprising that many (exciting) details about the movie have been recently revealed. Furthermore, a wave of Marvel Cinematic Universe rumors made their way online hinting at the future of Tom Holland's Spider-Man and what his next stand-alone adventure could be about. Finally, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 made waves for all the wrong reasons, but there's one saving grace in Insomniac's video game saga. So without further ado, here's everything you need to know!

Knull will make his big-screen debut as revealed by a new trailer

The King in Black is coming.

In a shocking turn of events, Sony released the final trailer for Venom: The Last Dance and revealed the main antagonist will be none other than the terrifying symbiote god, Knull. While he's a relatively new character in comic book pages, the ruler of the void was quickly established as a force to be reckoned with the moment he sliced the head off of a Celestial in his second-ever appearance.

It will be interesting to see what kind of role will the symbiotic villain have on the big screen considering a lot of time is needed to set him up and the movie will have a reported runtime of just 1 hour and 50 minutes. Fortunately, Donny Cates had a chance to read the script and talked highly about it - easing many of our worries in the process. The only question remaining is: will Knull be a one-and-done antagonist now that Venom's franchise is coming to an end? Well, it appears that won't be the case if a new rumor is to be believed. Audiences could witness his return in another live-action project, and we might just know which.

Spider-Man 4 could feature Venom; a new director is in talks to helm the movie

Speaking of symbiotes, it seems they could be the main focus of Tom Holland's next stand-alone adventure. While Spider-Man 4 was reportedly envisioned as a "grounded" movie consisting of Daredevil and the web-slinger battling against Wilson Fisk, there appears to be a shift in direction. Now, Sony is looking to create a multiversal story where Peter Parker finally fights against Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock for a moment before they eventually team up.

With the rumors that Knull will be back after Venom: The Last Dance, it's impossible not to wonder if he'll show up in the MCU and terrorize New York City with a symbiote invasion. Bringing such a story to life would be a huge task for any director, but it seems Marvel found the perfect candidate. Destin Daniel Cretton, better known for his work in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, is in talks to helm Spider-Man 4. Fortunately, an official movie reveal isn't far away off, especially considering filming will supposedly start in early 2025. Perhaps Sony is just waiting for audiences to watch Venom: The Last Dance before they can reveal more, so fingers crossed that's the case!

Tobey Maguire could return in the most unlikely of places

Spider-Man: No Way Home featured the long-awaited return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield as multiversal versions of the wall-crawler. So now that the door was opened for them to swing back into action, audiences want to see a continuation of their stories. Fortunately, it seems that's exactly what will happen... just not in the project you're expecting.

It's been reported Tobey Maguire's comeback will take place in Doctor Strange 3. While it's surprising to learn that storyline won't happen in a proper Spider-Man project, it's important to remember the soon-to-be Sorcerer Supreme is working with Clea to prevent a multiversal incursion. With that in mind, the movie could easily explore alternate versions of Earth, one of which might be home to Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy. Granted, there are great chances this rumor may have nothing behind it. But if it winds up being true, then audiences are in for a memorable experience without a doubt.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will be upgraded for the PS5 Pro, but no DLC is in sight yet

September brought the reveal of Sony's upcoming (and very expensive) addition to the PS family; the PlayStation 5 Pro. As if it wasn't enough, we also learned many classic PlayStation games are being upgraded to run better on their latest console - one of which is none other than Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Insomniac's latest title aims to run at a steady 60 fps while increasing the density of detail in the City of New York.

Shortly after the PS5 Pro reveal, Sony also announced a State of Play event. Many suspected a DLC for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 would finally be unveiled there considering how long it has been since the game's release. Unfortunately, that didn't end up happening much to the disappointment of many fans. While we're not ruling out that something could still be coming our way (especially during a special event at the end of the year), it would be better not to get our hopes too high.

Spider-Man Noir is gearing up for production

For the past few months, Spider-Man Noir casting news made their way online one by one, such as Brendan Gleeson landing the role of the main antagonist. However, in a shocking turn of events, the MGM+ and Amazon series revealed the addition of eight new stars to its ensemble. Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Cary Christopher, Michael Kostroff, Scott Macarthur, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice, and Amanda Schull will all join Nicholas Cage in the live-action adaptation of this grim and violent superhero. While a release date hasn't been officially released, all signs seem to indicate the series will start production soon enough, and with it, more news will surely be unveiled.

New Spider-Man merch is on our way

Last but not least, we need to talk about one of our favorite topics: Spider-Man merch! A new The Amazing Spider-Man Hot Toys figure was revealed, and it is as amazing as you'd imagine (with the exception of the weird lens placement in the mask, that is). This figure includes a realistic sculpt of Andrew Garfield and many iconic accessories such as Peter's skateboard, camera, backpack, and a few webs. Thanks to it, we're ready to relieve Marc Webb's franchise in a whole new way.

Additionally, a new classic Spider-Man: The Animated Series collectible was also unveiled by Mondo. It perfectly brings back to life an amazing adaptation of the wall-crawler thanks to its great attention to detail and the inclusion of a few accessories such as the Green Goblin's mask (that comes only in the deluxe edition, that is). Sure, it isn't cheap by any means with a retail price of $200. But if you're ready to relive your childhood once with this figure, then pre-orders are open now!
