For quite some time, we were left in the dark as to who the main villain in Venom: The Last Dance would be. A leaked teaser trailer seemed to indicate either Lasher or Toxin would take on the spotlight, with no bigger threat in sight. However, the official trailer shocked us all and revealed that Knull; the god of symbiotes, will be hunting Eddie Brock in his (seemingly) last big-screen adventure.

Yeah, talk about a 180-degree turn.

The latest news took us all by surprise in a good way. But leaving the excitement aside, many fans wonder whether Knull will act as a "one-and-done" villain or if there are bigger plans in store for him. After all, the creator of symbiotes is a threat big enough to be worthy of a saga of his own. But if the Venom movies are truly over after this October, then where could we see him next? It may be a complex scenario, but it looks like we may have some much-needed answers if a new report is to be believed.

Knull will reportedly be back after Venom: The Last Dance

According to Alex P, an insider for The Cosmic Circus, Knull will return after his big-screen debut in Venom: The Last Dance. It's unclear where we could see him next, but the prospect of Knull gearing up to be a major villain in Sony's Spider-Man Universe is exciting, to say the least.

It's worth remembering that one of Knull's signature weapons is the Necrosword - the very same weapon that Gorr, the God Butcher, wielded in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Thor Love and Thunder. With that in mind, could we hope to see a crossover between Sony and Marvel characters? In comic book pages, Knull chopped off the head of a Celestial, an action that positioned him as a truly terrifying force to be reckoned with. Wouldn't it be awesome to discover that Knowhere - a prominent location in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies made from a Celestial's head - came to be because of Knull?

The King in Black would be the perfect candidate for the next big bad after the Multiverse Saga is over and Doctor Doom exits the picture. Just think about a full-on MCU invasion where all our favorite heroes get infected by symbiotes and we get to see them fighting each other. It's an exciting idea, to say the least. But while Sony and Marvel have made deals in the past to allow Spider-Man to share the screen with Earth's Mightiest Heroes, the chances of seeing Knull as the main antagonist of the next MCU saga are slim. However, that doesn't mean he can't be a prominent villain in Sony's Spider-Man Universe.

Movies like Madame Web and Morbius have failed to impress fans so far. However, it looks like Venom: The Last Dance and Kraven the Hunter will soon change that. If Sony strikes gold with these two upcoming projects, introduces a version of the wall-crawler specific to their universe (Andrew Garfield, perhaps?), and builds towards something bigger with Knull, then they could finally have their own successful cinematic universe heading in a promising direction.

The possibilities are endless for Knull and, better yet, it won't be long after we find out what his role will be in the future. After all, we're just one month away from watching the closing chapter in the Lethal Protector saga.
