Venom: The Last Dance villain seemingly revealed in new trailer
Next month will finally see the premiere of Venom: The Last Dance and yet, there's still quite a bit we don't know about it. Sure, an official trailer was already released, and it has previously been stated it will be the Lethal Protector's last stand-alone movie. However, we still have to learn if it will partially take place in the MCU or not (given that confusing bar scene in the trailer) and, most importantly; who Venom will face off in his last adventure. Fortunately, a new international was released which would seem to (finally) reveal the big bad.
Could Lasher be the movie's villain?
As you can see in the trailer's thumbnail above, we have our first look at a new symbiote in Venom: The Last Dance. While its identity isn't explicitly given away, chances are we're looking at Lasher here. After all, it has a light aqua color and isn't as "bulky" as other iconic symbiotes such as Toxin. Furthermore, at the 0:14 second mark, we hear his voice saying very menacingly "Everything will end".
Lasher is one of the five aliens better known for their participation in the Separation Anxiety comic book arc. He's one of the offspring of the original Venom symbiote created by the Life Foundation. It's worth noting that such was also the case for Riot, the antagonist of the first Venom movie. After the Life Foundation's original plan went wrong, Lasher's symbiote bonded with a security guard called Ramón Hernández and proceeded to wreak havoc in the city.
While chances are Lasher will be the film's one and only antagonist, it's worth discussing the possibility of other symbiotes making their big-screen appearance as well. Venom: The Last Dance will be Sony's last entry in the franchise, after all, so they want to go out with a bang. Many even hoped Spider-Man would make an appearance in the movie to end things on a high note - signaling expectations are at an all-time high. So now that the symbiote's "home" has found Eddie Brock (and a full-on alien invasion will come to happen), why not let us see all five Life Foundation symbiotes together fighting against the Lethal Protector? They could even join forces and merge into "Hybrid", an amalgamation of all of Venom's offspring.
It's still too early to know for sure what awaits audiences once they finally watch Venom: The Last Dance. But one thing's certain: the possibilities of Lasher being in the film are exciting.
