We know the future of Tom Holland's Spider-Man thanks to a new report
While we all knew Tom Holland's time as the web-slinger was far from over, we didn't know when we'd see him next besides the highly-anticipated Spider-Man 4. Sure, there was a lot of speculation and a few educated guesses, but nothing really set in stone. Fortunately, we could finally have some concrete answers courtesy of a new report. And better yet; it seems the wall-crawler is here to stay.
Tom Holland will reportedly return as Spider-Man in six projects
According to established insider MyTimeToShineHello, Tom Holland will come back as the friendly neighborhood hero in six more projects. Three of them will come as part of his stand-alone movie franchise in the form of Spider-Man 4, 5, and 6. The three remaining will be part of the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe with one being Avengers: Secret Wars. While the rest weren't revealed, that doesn't mean we can't put on our detective hats (a la Spider-Man Noir) and speculate.
It would be a true shocker if Avengers: Doomsday was released, Robert Downey Jr. made his debut as Victor Von Doom, and Peter Parker was nowhere to be found. So it would be safe to assume that's one of the two remaining movies. And what about the last one? Well, there are a few options. Veteran Marvel actor, Vincent D'Onofrio, recently teased that Daredevil: Born Again could adapt the Devil's Reign storyline, in which the Kingpin of crime exploits his position as the Mayor of New York to hunt the city's vigilantes. Iron Man, Captain America, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Miles Morales, Ben Reilly, and more heroes are included in that list (so even though Peter Parker himself is famously absent, Spider-Man isn't).
While it's unlikely the Disney+ series will be a one-to-one adaptation of the huge comic book event (or even feature half of its characters), maybe a Peter Parker appearance isn't out of the realm of possibility. After all, it was reported that Spider-Man 4 was originally intended to be a street-level adventure featuring the appearance of the Man Without Fear. But even though all signs indicate that won't be the case anymore, Marvel reportedly still wants to tell that story elsewhere. So what better place to do it than Daredevil: Born Again?
Another possibility could be an unannounced multiversal Spider-Man project. After all, it's been rumored that Andrew Garfield will be back as the wall-crawler in two more projects. Besides, Sony could intend to set up Knull as the big bad of this hypothetical movie. Getting to see Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, Tom Holland, and Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock come together to fight the King in Black would honestly be quite amazing.
Regardless of which projects we see the MCU's Spider-Man in, it's nice to know there's a great possibility of watching him grow on-screen. After all, the wall-crawler movies haven't explored the "adult" era of his life. And if Ultimate Spider-Man (2024) proves anything, is that it can make for really entertaining and thoughtful stories.
