Audiences have had the opportunity to witness three different live-action Spider-Man sagas on the big screen. Unfortunately, only one of them has been the shortest-lived with two titles under its name, and that's The Amazing Spider-Man. Andrew Garfield's portrayal of the character was initially met with mixed reactions, as fans deemed him too "cool" to play the role of a teenager with extreme bad luck.

Fortunately, things have changed in recent years, and Andrew's comeback in Spider-Man: No Way Home was praised by audiences worldwide. Now, everybody wants to see more of him swinging across New York's skyline, crawling buildings, and defeating multiple bad guys. Fortunately, the door is open for that to happen as confirmed by the actor himself.

Andrew Garfield would return as Spider-Man if it's "something that hasn't been done before"

In an interview with Esquire, Andrew was asked if he'd ever return to the role of Spider-Man again. Surprisingly enough, the English actor confirmed he'd "100 percent" do it under the right circumstances:

"For sure, I would 100 percent come back if it was the right thing, if it’s additive to the culture, if there’s a great concept or something that hasn’t been done before that’s unique and
odd and exciting and that you can sink your teeth into."

Andrew Garfield's arachnid franchise was ultimately canceled after The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was met with an underwhelming critical and commercial response (and some behind-the-scenes drama as well). Sony would later reach an agreement with Marvel to introduce the friendly neighborhood hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Tom Holland taking on the mantle.

It seemed like audiences had seen the last of The Amazing Spider-Man version of Peter Parker, but then Spider-Man: No Way Home came and surprised us all. "It was really healing for me", said Andrew after revealing he felt like his participation as the wall-crawler was "left dangling" when the saga was abruptly canceled.

For quite some time now, it's been heavily rumored Andrew Garfield would make a superhero comeback in many different projects. First, it was heavily implied he was going to make an appearance in Venom: The Last Dance, but the idea seems to be out of the picture now that Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock could cross paths with Tom Holland's Spider-Man. Fortunately, there's always Avengers: Secret Wars, an epic crossover that will bring many iconic characters from the multiverse to fight against a common threat.

It's been reported both Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire will wear the red and blue costumes once again in Earth's Mightiest Heroes' highly anticipated adventure. Furthermore, a cryptic post from Daniel Richtman, a reliable movie insider, seems to suggest Andrew will finally get his chance to fight an alien. Could that also be in Secret Wars? Or are we looking at a potential storyline with Knull here? Only time will tell, but one thing's for sure; we want to see more of all variants of Spider-Man on the big screen, without a doubt.
