There are few characters as iconic as Spider-Man. Ever since his comic book debut back in 1962, the superhero quickly became a fan favorite that outgrew Peter Parker himself. Multiple people have taken over the mantle across the years, including Miguel O'Hara, Ben Reily, Otto Octavius, and the most popular of all: Miles Morales.

It would be an understatement to say that anticipation is at an all-time high for Miles to appear in a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. Ever since his uncle, Aaron Davis, briefly showed up in Spider-Man: Homecoming, fans have been on the lookout for his nephew. Fortunately, that day will finally come if a new report is anything to go by.

Miles Morales will reportedly make his big screen debut in Spider-Man 4

According to scooper Marvel Update, Miles Morales, Rio Morales, and Jefferson Davis will all make their live-action debut in Spider-Man 4. At this point, Peter's next adventure sounds like a really crowded movie if we take into account all the different reports that have recently surfaced online. From Knull being the big bad, to Andrew and Tobey returning for the second time in a row, all the way to a variant of Emma Stone's Spider-Gwen making an appearance. Add Miles Morales to that list, and maybe there are a little too many characters in store. So if we were to believe all of these rumors turn out to be true, how could Sony pull such a movie off?

Perhaps we have a "Knull" scenario right here. The King in Black is too big of a character to have his complete arc told in one single film. Sony is well aware of that and, as a result, they've confirmed Venom: The Last Dance will simply set him up for future projects. Spider-Man 4 could follow the same road and let audiences get a glimpse of a powerless Miles Morales living with his family in Brooklyn. It doesn't have to be a lengthy sequence - it just needs to establish him as someone who's currently living and breathing in the MCU so that he can obtain his powers in a stand-alone project at a later point.

Fans have been eager for the Brooklyn teenager to save the day as the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man in a live-action project. After all, his character has stolen the spotlight in the Spider-Verse movies and the Marvel's Spider-Man video game franchise. In addition to that, there are countless comic books dedicated to his adventures since the death of Ultimate Spider-Man. So it's easy to see the MCU has fallen behind in this aspect.

The good news is, if Miles indeed appears in Spider-Man 4, then chances are he could return in either Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars. It's worth noting Earth's Mightiest Heroes' upcoming adventures will likely bring together every MCU superhero across the multiverse. So it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to assume we could see the wall-crawler there, alongside Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire's Peter Parkers.

Granted, it's always important to take all rumors with a grain of salt. But at this point, it just seems like a matter of time before Miles Morales suits up and saves the day alongside Peter Parker.
