December came and went in the blink of an eye, but not before leaving us with many Spider-Man stories and rumors. We had updates on long-awaited projects such as Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and the highly-anticipated Spider-Man 4. Besides, we even witnessed the release of a new exciting comic book series and a popular video game, both starring major Spidey-related characters. With so much to break down, now is the perfect time to recap everything that happened to the wall-crawler during the Holiday season.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man trailer, comic, and villain are here
On Jan. 29, 2025, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man will be released on Disney+. With such little time left until the big day, more reveals, news, and even official trailers are starting to make their way online—painting a clear picture of what awaits in store. For starters, Kingpin D'Onofrio will reprise his role as the Kingpin of Crime in the animated series, making us think he'll actually be the big bad of this new tale. After all, it's worth remembering that the very first tie-in comic book of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man spilled the beans on quite a few interesting things.
Most notably, we know big mob boss Silvermane will have a role to play from the get-go by attempting to own the land on which Midtown High was built. So perhaps he's just following the orders of a bigger threat in the form of Wilson Fisk. And speaking of bad guys, we also know recurring Spider-Man villains The Enforcers will appear alongside The Scorpion, Doctor Octopus, Venom (or, at least, a variation of the symbiote), quite possibly Flint Marko (as he was teased in the tie-in comic book), and more.
Finally, the trailer for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man finally made its way online! It was definitely a long wait, but now we know what to expect once the series hits the small screen. A bit of the main theme was played in the background, and it sounded like a re-imagining of the classic song from the 1967 TV series. Furthermore, we witnessed the Future Foundation Suit in action and... I'm sorry. I forgot the show will name it the "Oscorp Suit" instead. Finally, we also had our fair share of easter eggs and references to discover, signaling the series will be packed with references to the Spider-Man mythos. On the bright side, we're just weeks away from its release.
