Will Spidey keep the suit from the end of No Way Home? The answer is complicated

The ending of No Way Home featured one of the most amazing Spider-Man suits ever created. So of course, we all wonder if Peter will keep it, but it's complicated.

When talking about the very best live-action Spidey looks, it's impossible not to bring up Tom Holland's at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home. It's the first time audiences watched the MCU's Peter Parker make a costume on his own without any Stark tech or S.H.I.E.L.D.'s intervention. Sure, he also had the heavily underrated homemade suit, but we didn't see him create that one. So needless to say, there's something very special about how the wall-crawler looks now.

Naturally, audiences have wondered if the recently-announced Spider-Man 4 will feature Peter wearing that very same costume or if he'll suddenly change styles (a la The Amazing Spider-Man 2). It's a mystery intriguing enough to keep anyone awake at night. Fortunately, we might finally have an answer, but it's more complicated than what it would appear at first glance.

Peter will wear the classic suit, but it will transform into the Black Suit

According to renowned insider Alex Perez, via The Cosmic Circus, Peter will keep the classic suit seen at the end of No Way Home in the upcoming Spider-Man 4. Yeah, that's a big sigh of relief. However, the suit won't stay the same for very long, as it's also reported it will eventually turn into the iconic black suit during the events of Avengers: Doomsday.

This falls in line with other reports that claim Spider-Man 4 will see the web-slinger team up with Tom Hardy's Venom. Naturally, a story like that will open the doors for Peter to eventually bond with the symbiote and give in to his dark desires. Curiously enough, there was another rumor that stated Peter would uncharacteristically be a villain during Avengers: Secret Wars, likely siding with Doctor Doom himself. While such a theory seemed too far-fetched at first, it would be more likely than ever if Peter is indeed corrupted by his costume.

The timing couldn't be better to execute such a dark storyline on the big screen. Right now, the friendly neighborhood hero is at the lowest point in his life after losing Aunt May and parting ways with his best friend and the love of his life. Besides, the whole world has forgotten he ever existed, and so he's now living in a cheap apartment in New York City all by himself. Peter is lonely and grieving. So add a brain-washing symbiote into the mix, along with a new foe with the face of a former friend, and the results could be catastrophically good (for us, the audience, of course. Not so much for the arachnid).

Another important question to ask is how will the black suit look like in live-action. Fans weren't too excited about its design in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3 at first (though most have changed their minds since). So it's up to Avengers: Secret Wars to wow us from the get-go. Fortunately, we might have a decent idea of how the MCU will bring to life such an iconic look. Thanks to the Spider-Man: No Way Home - The Art of the Movie artbook, we can see what looks like a scrapped design for the symbiote suit. It's pretty faithful to its comic book counterpart, with a big white spider symbol and no webbing on the surface.

If the MCU's Spider-Man 4 decides to use that very same design, then it's safe to say we'll be in for an amazing treat. Let's just hope we do get to see that storyline play out on the big screen.

The untitled Spider-Man 4 will be released on Jul. 24, 2026.
