Unfortunately, Marvel and Sony haven't revealed too much about the untitled Spider-Man 4 other than Venom might make an appearance, and the movie will be about the wall-crawler giving up being Peter Parker. However, the rumor mill has been in full swing for quite some time now, and every new report suggests we'll have a bigger adventure than what many might've expected. From Star-Lord supposedly making a surprise appearance to Spider-Gwen having her live-action debut — every new rumor seems to outweigh the last. Now the streak keeps going, as another huge Marvel Cinematic Universe hero could show up in Spidey's upcoming adventure as well.
Scarlet Witch will reportedly be in Spider-Man 4
According to superhero insider Marvel Updates, Wanda Maximoff will appear in Spider-Man 4. It may seem like a strange crossover at first, as they aren't a usual pairing in comic book pages as opposed to Spidey and Daredevil or Luke Cage and Jessica Jones. However, it's worth mentioning the two iconic heroes recently were the stars of their own What If...? book story where Aunt May and Uncle Ben adopted Wanda and she grew up in the same house as Peter. Marvel Comics has sometimes published series to see their critical reception and determine if they're worth the big screen treatment or not, so perhaps this was one of these instances.
Now that the likes of Iron Man, Captain America, and Black Widow are gone, fans have been eager to know who will step up and fill their spots. Heroes like Spider-Man, Scarlet Witch, and Doctor Strange seem to be the most likely candidates. However, that means they would eventually need to interact as much as the original three Avengers did on the big screen — something that hasn't fully happened yet. Granted, audiences already witnessed Peter and Strange team up during the events of Avengers: Infinity War while the soon-to-be Sorcerer Supreme and Wanda were the stars of their own movie. However, the wall-crawler and reformed supervillain haven't teamed up yet in the MCU, so it's easy to understand why that could change soon.
It seems like a common trope for retired MCU actors to make a comeback near the end of the Multiversal Saga. First, Robert Downey Jr. was cast as Doctor Doom, and then it was confirmed Chris Evans would be back for Avengers: Doomsday. And even if nobody expected Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda to be gone for good (especially after all of Kevin Feige openly talking about her return), it's nice to know she could potentially share more time with the wall-crawler. However, it's worth keeping in mind her first appearance after Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will likely happen even sooner during Avengers: Doomsday.
At this point, it seems like everyone will show up in Spider-Man 4. We've heard reports of Venom, Knull, Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, Doctor Doom, Star-Lord, and now Wanda all showing up at some point. Of course, it's highly unlikely for all of those rumors to be true, but if some of them had to; I'd love to see how Peter would react to meeting another hero who has lost everything much like him. So fingers crossed there is some validity to this one, and that they become that unlikely pairing that turns out to be much better than anyone could've anticipated.
Spider-Man 4 will be released on Jul. 24, 2026.
