Venom: The Last Dance has a lot riding on its shoulders considering it's the Lethal Protector's last stand-alone adventure. In addition to that, it will also feature the highly-anticipated big-screen debut of the symbiote god, Knull. Expectations are (understandably) at an all-time high, and while it seems nothing could add more pressure to the film, a new report might just prove us wrong. You see, a mind-blowing cameo could take place that would make fans jump out of their seats in excitement, and even if nothing is set in stone yet, the idea alone is beyond exciting.
Andrew Garfield is rumored to have a cameo in Venom: The Last Dance
According to scooper Marvel News, Andrew Garfield could cameo as the friendly neighborhood hero in Venom: The Last Dance. It isn't clear how this crossover could be achieved since both franchises are widely believed to take place in different universes (even if a retcon could easily fix this at any moment). Furthermore, the post-credits scenes of Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Spider-Man: No Way Home suggested Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock would cross paths with a different version of the web-slinger in the form of Tom Holland. But as unlikely as it may seem, insider Alex P. also teased the idea that The Amazing Spider-Man could finally realize his dream of fighting an alien by going face to face with Knull - who's set to be the antagonist of the Lethal Protector's upcoming movie.
Interestingly enough, this isn't the first time we've heard about the possibility of Andrew Garfield swinging his way into the Lethal Protector's final film. It's been reported by a different source that the wall-crawler could be left stranded in Eddie Brock's universe after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home (Hey, we've seen stranger things happen in the post-credits scene of Morbius). However, this would also open a new can of worms when you take into consideration that Rhys Ifans - who played The Lizard in The Amazing Spider-Man - is confirmed to have a role in Venom: The Last Dance.
Granted, the movie could go on to explain that two persons with the same face could act as different characters in the multiverse. After all, that will be the case in Avengers: Doomsday, where former Iron Man actor, Robert Downey Jr., will suit up as the evil Doctor Doom. But knowing Sony, the most likely scenario is that this problem of actors playing different roles isn't even acknowledged. If Andrew Garfield does have a cameo, chances are he won't cross paths with Rhys Ifans' character, meaning no confusing moment would happen between them considering the whole Lizard situation.
Sony's Spider-Man Universe currently lacks a... well, Spider-Man of his own. So it really makes you wonder if Andrew's cameo would be a one-and-done thing or if something bigger is in store for him. The British actor recently confirmed he would wear the iconic red and blue suit on the big screen once again only if it's to do "something that hasn't been done before". And wouldn't you know it, but his character never got the chance to face against a symbiote. So is that a reason big enough? Please, Andrew, tell us it is.
