Here's who will portray Knull in Venom: The Last Dance according to new reports
As we get closer and closer to the release of Venom: The Last Dance, more rumors are starting to make their way online. While there was much speculation about who could portray Knull on the big screen, it appears we finally have a conclusive answer courtesy of a new report. It's a pick that very few could've seen coming, but it may just prove to be the perfect choice depending on the movie's execution. So hold on to your symbiotes, folks, because we're about to enter a very dark territory.
Andy Serkis will bring Knull to life
According to reliable insider Daniel Richtman, Andy Serkis will be Knull in Venom: The Last Dance. Interestingly enough, this wouldn't mark the first time the English filmmaker has worked on the Lethal Protector franchise considering he was the director in Let There Be Carnage. However, this time he won't be working behind the scenes, which means audiences will see him steal the spotlight alongside Tom Hardy.
It's impossible not to question whether Knull will be brought to life entirely in CGI given the casting rumor. After all, Andy Serkis is more known for his many iconic motion-capture performances, including portraying Gollum in The Lord of the Rings, Caesar on The Planet of the Apes, Supreme Leader Snoke in Star Wars, and even King Kong. In addition to that, the King in Black is a very tall deity with unusual physical features such as glowing red eyes, sharp teeth, and a very large tongue. Maybe Sony realized makeup wasn't enough to do the supervillain justice, so who better to portray a fully digital character than Andy Serkis?
There was a time when it was widely believed Norman Reedus would be Knull in Venom's final stand-alone movie. Furthermore, it was recently speculated that Keanu Reeves was going to be the man for the job. But given Daniel Richtman's track record, it seems the casting could be finally set in stone, ruling out the previous two popular options.
Furthermore, insider MyTimeToShineHello recently reported that the Ruler of the Void won't have a lot of screen time in Venom: The Last Dance. While it may be disheartening to learn, it's worth remembering that Sony could be looking to simply introduce the character and his mythos to the big screen in order to set him up for the future. After all, it's been heavily speculated that Knull will be back in other live-action projects (maybe even in Spider-Man 4), so we could be looking at the start of a terrifying franchise villain just like Thanos.
