Popular Spider-Man character is still alive despite his movie demise, says report
Venom: The Last Dance was advertised as the final chapter in the Lethal Protector's trilogy. And while very few expected the character to actually die on screen, that unfortunately ended up being the case. The Venom symbiote is no more, and as such it cannot bond with Eddie anymore and create the monstrous anit-hero we all know and love. Still, many were skeptical about this "death", especially since Knull's story is barely beginning and he's known for being a Venom villain, above anything else.
Not much is known about the future of Sony's Spider-Man Universe at this point, which means speculation is running rampant. Granted, Kraven the Hunter will be released this December but after that, there's a blank canvas where anything could happen. With that in mind, we can't help but feel Sony wouldn't get rid of their most popular franchise so easily. And if a new rumor is anything to go by, it seems there are plans for the Lethal Protector to come back once again.
Venom is reportedly alive after the events of The Last Dance
According to established insider Alex Perez, from The Cosmic Circus, the Venom symbiote is still alive, even if audiences watched it "die" during the events of Venom: The Last Dance". It shouldn't come as quite a shock since the second post-credits scene teased a piece of the alien bonded with a cockroach and made its escape. Furthermore, we have to remember another piece of the symbiote was left behind in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Eddie Brock was mistakenly transported there courtesy of Dr. Strange's memory-erasing spell. With that in mind, there are two offsprings of Venom living in two different universes.
Recently, it was reported Sony is working on an Agent Venom movie after the character was introduced in Venom: The Last Dance. Remember how there was a military agent who lost both legs and was named "Thompson"? Yes, that's none other than Eugene "Flash" Thompson himself. In comic book pages, he bonds with the Venom symbiote to create a straight-up hero with good-hearted intentions. After his death, he (briefly) turns into a dragon to fight Knull and his forces, which makes him an ideal candidate to face the King in Black on the big screen as well.
Besides, we have to remember it's been heavily rumored that Spider-Man 4 will feature Tom Hardy's Venom. Perhaps Eddie Brock will somehow travel to the Marvel Cinematic Universe to find the piece of symbiote he left behind in the post-credits scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Now that the Multiverse Saga is coming to an end, anything could happen. So it wouldn't be too far-fetched to think the Spidey and Venom team-up could finally happen after multiple movies and teases.
All things considered, it seems there are two different paths for us to see more Venom on the big screen. While it was sad to see him pay the ultimate price in Venom: The Last Dance, it appears his demise won't prove to be so permanent after all. And you know what? I'm okay with it. Anything to finally see him fight (and eventually team up with) Spidey!
