With the release of Venom: The Last Dance audiences witnessed the conclusion of Eddie Brock's story on the big screen (or at least, that's what it seems like at the moment). Not only that, but Sony's only successful saga in their Spider-Man universe also came to an end. Morbius and Madame Web failed to impress audiences and be commercially successful, so now all eyes are on Kraven the Hunter to replicate some of the magic the Lethal Protector once achieved.

Initial reactions to Kraven the Hunter are surprisingly positive, with spectators claiming it's one of the most violent Marvel movies ever made with a style very similar to John Wick (which is nothing short of exciting). However, there are still a great number of doubts in audiences' minds, such as whether or not Chameleon will have superpowers, whether Spider-Man will show up or not, and, of course, what's the movie's runtime. Fortunately, it seems we could finally have an answer to the latter.

Kraven the Hunter will reportedly be as long as Venom: The Last Dance

According to established insider Cryptic HD QUALITY, Kraven the Hunter will be "about the same length" as Venom: The Last Dance, which is one hour and 49 minutes long. While the source claims an official confirmation will come "soon", it's worth noting they correctly reported the runtime of Venom's latest movie prior to its release. Besides, it would seem perfectly in place for a movie taking place in Sony's Spider-Man Universe to be just under two hours.

The shorter a movie's runtime, the more screenings it can have - so studios usually go along with this strategy to earn a greater profit. Madame Web, Morbius, and all three Venom movies fail to cross the two-hour mark, which means it's very likely for Kraven the Hunter to follow the same pattern. However, it begs the question of whether it's enough time to present Sergei Kravinoff's origin story - along with that of Rhino and the Chameleon - in a way that feels cohesive.

Most of what has been shown (and praised) of Kraven the Hunter are action scenes, so it remains to be seen if the story is on par. Hopefully, that ends up being the case and we witness the start of a saga that surpasses Venom's. However, that can only happen if the movie doesn't cut a lot of content, unlike The Amazing Spider-Man 2. So fingers crossed the runtime isn't shortened any further than it needs to just for the sake of *potentially* making more money.

Kraven the Hunter releases on December 13, 2024.
