Iconic MCU hero will reportedly show up in Spider-Man 4; fans shocked

Just when Spider-Man 4 couldn't seem like a more stacked movie given all the recent rumors, another iconic MCU hero could make an appearance as well.

Spider-Man 4 might have been recently confirmed, but there's still so much we don't know about the highly-anticipated movie. From the main villain to a potential storyline; everything is surrounded by mystery. However, that hasn't stopped multiple rumors from painting a clearer picture of what might happen. Currently, it seems like the wall-crawler's upcoming adventure will see him team up with multiple characters (such as Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock) to fight Knull. And just when it seemed like no more surprises could be in store, a new report claims an iconic Marvel Cinematic Universe hero will make an appearance.

Star-Lord will appear in Spider-Man 4, says report

According to insider PopFilms, Chris Pratt is set to reprise his role as Star-Lord in Spider-Man 4. This would reportedly come as part of Chris' new contract in the MCU, which will also see him show up in other movies such as Avengers: Doomsday.

The "Peter team-up" may seem to be pulled out of nowhere, but it's important to remember we last saw Quill living on Earth with his grandfather - so the chances of them meeting up are higher than if he were to be in space. And while, yes, there's still a great gap between Missouri and New York, we also have to take into consideration that all events in Spider-Man 4 might take place in a world different than ours.

Back in August, reliable insider Daniel Richtman reported all movies to come after Avengers: Doomsday and before Avengers: Secret Wars will take place in Battleworld; a world shaped by Doctor Doom which is an amalgamation of the Marvel Multiverse. In comic book pages, the remains of every different reality were separated into "domains", meaning the MCU as a whole would be reduced to one single piece of land. With that in mind, it wouldn't be too far-fetched for Peter Parker and Peter Quill to casually cross paths in it.

No information about Star-Lord's role was revealed, meaning his appearance could range from being a simple cameo all the way to being a secondary character. The former seems more likely, as Spider-Man 4 seems to be a very stacked movie thanks to the involvement of the multiverse. Characters such as Tom Hardy's Venom and Michael Keaton's Vulture are also rumored to make a comeback, even if they were last seen in Sony's Spider-Man universe. The implications of Battleworld could be huge and allow for many surprise appearances.

But even if Star-Lord does come face-to-face with the wall-crawler again, their relationship wouldn't be the same after Doctor Strange's spell in Spider-Man No Way Home. Everyone has forgotten who Peter Parker is, so it would be as if the two iconic heroes met for the first time. Curiously enough, Star-Lord lived through something similar after her Gamora was replaced with one from a different point in time who hadn't met him before. We all know how heartbreaking it was to see that unfold on the big screen, and it seems we'll repeat it all over again in Spider-Man 4.
