This highly anticipated MCU show has yet to be released, and yet Marvel officially confirmed it will be back for a second season.

So far, the Marvel Cinematic Universe shows on Disney+ have been a bit of a mixed bag. Some of them, such as Loki and WandaVision, instantly won over fans' hearts and gathered great levels of critical acclaim along the way. Others (that shall remain unnamed) have disappointed us in more ways than we could've possibly imagined. With that in mind, it's really difficult to tell what we're getting with each new release.

On the bright side, Marvel is looking to end the bad streak and regain their spot as the king of the hill. And what better way to do it than kicking 2025 off with the release of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and Daredevil: Born Again? After all, both shows have the potential to be amongst the best projects to be part of Phases 4 and 5. In fact, Marvel is so confident these series will succeed, that one has already been renewed for a second season even before we've even seen the pilot. Yes, it appears Marvel is gearing up for big things in the future.

Daredevil: Born Again is coming back for a second season

During a panel at FAN EXPO San Francisco, Charlie Cox revealed shooting for the second season of Daredevil: Born Again will begin before the first season is even released. Not only does that signal that Disney has a lot of faith the show will succeed, but also that we won't have to wait more than half a decade for new Daredevil content. Just for reference, there was almost a seven-year gap between the release of the third season of Netflix's Daredevil and its upcoming follow-up, which is absolutely ridiculous given how beloved the character is. Thankfully, history won't repeat itself this time around.

Interestingly enough, it's been reported for quite some time now that Marvel intends for the Man Without Fear and the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man to team up. Furthermore, we've heard rumors that Daredevil: Born Again will be the beginning of a Devil's Reign storyline in the MCU — something that was seemingly confirmed when Kingpin was revealed to be the Mayor of New York in the show's first official trailer. So if we assume all vigilantes in the City will be outlawed, then it wouldn't be too far-fetched to think Peter Parker and Matt Murdock could join forces to take down Wilson Fisk. And what better place to watch such a story unfold than the second season of Daredevil: Born Again?

Given that Muse is shaping up to be the main villain in Daredevil: Born Again (and that we'll see the White Tiger as well), it's possible there's not too much room left for Kingpin's arc to steal the spotlight. After all, Bullseye and the Punisher will make an appearance too, meaning things could risk being a bit too crowded if many plotlines are shoehorned in. So it doesn't come as a shock that a second season is necessary to tie any loose ends. Furthermore, Disney originally intended for Daredevil's first stand-alone series on the MCU to consist of 18 episodes. But while that number was heavily reduced, maybe it's just a matter of waiting a bit more for the other half to finally hit the small screen.

It's worth pointing out that filming the second season of Daredevil: Born Again before the first one even airs might result in a few spoiler-y set photos making their way online and giving us an indication of how things will pan out this March. So, for example, if Matt ends up wearing a brand new suit and shooting takes place in the streets of New York, maybe there's a chance we can get an early look at it in an unintended way. Hopefully, nothing too major gets revealed way ahead of time. That way, we can go into Daredevil: Born Again completely in the dark and (hopefully) be surprised by it in a good way.

Daredevil: Born Again will be released on March 4, 2025, on Disney+.
