In just a matter of days, Peter Parker will swing onto the big screen and save the day asYour Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. The upcoming Disney+ show will explore the origin story of a new version of Peter Parker that — unlikeits Marvel Cinematic Universecounterpart — never got to attend Midtown High or meet Need Leeds and MJ. Instead, he'll befriend Nico Minoru and try to uncover a big conspiracy involving the infamous Mob Boss Silvermane. It's an exciting premise featuring many beloved Marvel characters such as the Kingpin, Daredevil, Venom, and Norman Osborn. Understandably enough, fans are eager to watch the series. But first and foremost we have to know what its release schedule will be like.
It was previously revealed that audiences will enjoya double-episode premiereforYour Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. While it's a rare case, the same strategy was also used forAgatha All Along, WandaVision,andX-Men '97 —so at least we've seen that before. However, the wall-crawler's upcoming adventure will mark the first time we don't have to wait weekly or even daily for a single new episode. This time around, Marvel decided to give us a pretty interesting release schedule that will have multiple releases per week:
- Jan. 29 - Episodes 1 and 2.
- Feb. 5 - Episodes 3, 4 and 5.
- Feb. 12 - Episodes 6, 7 and 8.
- Feb. 19 - Episodes 9 and 10.
Shockingly enough, this occasion will mark the first time since the inception of the MCU Disney+ series that we'll get to see three new episodes on the same day. Furthermore, it also means audiences will experience everythingYour Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Manhas to offer in a single month. While it seems strange for Marvel to follow such a radically different strategy than the one they've usually used before, it makes sense when considering how stacked 2025 will be in the superhero department.
Episodes 6, 7, and 8 ofYour Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Manwill be released just one day beforeCaptain America: Brave New Worldhits theaters. Besides, if Spidey's upcoming show had been extended for a longer period of time, then it would've clashed with the premiere and subsequent run ofDaredevil: Born Again, which is coming on March 4. And while it would be exciting for fans to have two ongoing MCU Disney+ series at the same time, chances are the House of Mouse doesn't want to compete with itself for viewers' attention.
On the bright side, this means we'll get a lot of Spider-Man content coming our way really soon — a welcome and perhaps even necessary announcement after the reports that Tom Holland'sSpider-Man 4will be delayed. Besides, we still haveSpider-Man: Noirto look forward to later this year assuming a delay isn't on the cards either. So all things considered, now is a perfect time to be a fan of the wall-crawler.
The first two episodes ofYour Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Manwill be released on Jan. 29, 2025 on Disney+.
