The Carnage symbiote finds a shocking new host

Given all the chaos that Eddie Brock has had to face recently, perhaps a bit of a breather was expected. However, he's going to get everything but that.

New York Comic Con came and went in the blink of an eye, but not before leaving us with tons of exciting news. From showcasing the opening minutes of Kraven The Hunter all the way to presenting a sneak peek at the highly anticipated Venom: The Last Dance. However, live-action movies weren't the only ones to get the spotlight, as there were plenty of shocking comic book reveals as well. The best example is that a pair of lifetime villains will have to come together in a literal sense, much to fans' shock.

Eddie Brock will bond with the Carnage symbiote in their own series

After the event of Donny Cates' Venom (2018) Eddie Brock claimed his place as the new King In Black while his son, Dylan Brock, became the new Venom. However, that status quo wouldn't last long as the father and son came face-to-face with each other during the events of Venom War (2024). While readers have yet to learn how the series will end at the time of writing this, a small spoiler came thanks to the reveal of All New Venom - an upcoming story where the Venom symbiote will bond with a brand new host (likely to be Luke Cage). With that in mind, the question has to be asked: what will happen to Eddie when the Venom mantle is taken by someone else? Well, we finally have an answer, and it's terrifying.

During New York Comic Con, Marvel announced Eddie Brock: Carnage, a new series in which iconic archnemesis will become one. Fans got to witness Eddie and the Carnage symbiote bond during Venom: Island for a brief period of time. However, no matter how short it was, Eddie was immediately trapped and voiceless until Dylan was able to set him free. Now, it seems the dynamic will be a little different as the two protagonists will have to meet halfway as revealed by writer Charles Soule:

"Carnage is someone that has to kill, so Eddie has to feed him deaths. In order for Eddie to be okay with that, the people he feeds Carnage are serial killers. But Carnage is also an addict, and addicts need bigger and bigger highs."

The newly-revealed series will be released in February 2025, and the main cover and variant cover were showcased during NYCC as well.
