Sometimes the idea of what things could've been like is as interesting as how it all really played out. While we're glad both Andrew Garfield and Tom Hollan took on the Spider-Man mantle in their respective franchises, there's no denying we'll always wonder what Sam Raimi had in store for Spider-Man 4. Unfortunately, the movie got canceled due to time constraints and Sony's desire to reboot the franchise. However, in the infinite multiverse, there's a reality where Tobey suited up for another stand-alone movie, and now we're closer to knowing how it could've turned out thanks to a new stunning concept art.

Fan-made concept art shows Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 4 could've looked like

3D artist GuitarthVader created a high-detailed render of a battle between Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man and John Malkovich's Vulture. The latter was intended to take the spotlight as the main antagonist in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 4 until the project was ultimately axed. While it's unfortunate the first big-screen saga of the friendly neighborhood hero ended so abruptly, it's nice to get little glimpses of what things could've been like had a reboot never been in the cards for Sony.

GuirathVader aims to animate and voice the dialog of Spider-Man 4's official concept art to bring entire sequences of the movie to life. It's a massive undertaking, but one that could give us a better insight into the adventures Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker lived since the ending of the controversial Spider-Man 3. After all, Spider-Man: No Way Home failed to dive into his past, leaving much to fans' imagination.

So much time has passed since the cancelation of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 4 that we have a good idea of how it could've played out. Storyboard artist Jeffrey Henderson revealed audiences would've seen an opening montage of Spidey taking down multiple classic villains such as Shocker, Mysterio, Stilt-Man, and more. Furthermore, Peter Parker would've enjoyed his superhero life which would've been a nice change of pace compared to previous entries in the saga. However, things would've quickly taken a dark turn with the introduction of John Malkovich's Vulture.

Official concept art gives us an idea of how Adrian Toomes could've looked in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 4. Furthermore, work started on the practical costume, which would've included "bladed" wings much like in the video game Spider-Man: Web of Shadows.

The supervillain eventually made his big-screen debut in the beloved Spider-Man: Homecoming, opposite Tom Holland's Peter Parker. Michael Keaton's Adrian Toomes quickly became a fan favorite thanks to his grounded motivations and drive to keep his family safe. However, he was also a force to be reckoned with - one that might return in future projects if the post-credits scene of Morbius is anything to go by. While Sam Raimi probably had a completely different vision for the same character, it's nice to know fans eventually had the chance to see him on the big screen.
