While we can't shake the feeling Tom Holland's journey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is just starting, we unfortunately don't know too much about his future. Fans are still eagerly awaiting news about his upcoming stand-alone adventure (which has been discussed by Kevin Feige multiple times at this point). But beyond that, there's nothing truly set in stone. However, we may not be too in the dark after all. Thanks to a new report we may finally know in which other big crossover movie Tom Holland could show up next and it is a big one.

That's right. It seems fans will see a long-awaited reunion on the big screen... just not in the way we all imagined.

Tom Holland's Spider-Man will reportedly appear in Avengers: Doomsday

According to Marvel scooper MyTimeToShineHello on X (formerly Twitter), Tom Holland's contract stipulates he'll appear in Avengers: Doomsday. I know it may seem obvious at first glance, but we don't know about Spidey's future after Spider-Man 4. Even his upcoming stand-alone movie hasn't been officially confirmed by Sony themselves (though it should be coming at any time now considering it's been reported to start filming early next year).

Since the premiere of Spider-Man: No Way Home almost three years ago, we haven't heard from the friendly neighborhood hero. So even though it's important to take all rumors with a grain of salt (even those as "evident" as this one) it's nice to hear the wall-crawler could return in another Avengers movie.

The report also states Robert Downey Jr will indeed play Victor Von Doom instead of a Tony Stark variant. This was seemingly confirmed a few weeks ago by Robert Downey Jr. in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, in which he recalls Kevin Feige saying to him "Let’s get Victor Von Doom right". Furthermore, it's being claimed that this version of Doctor Doom will be from the universe in which Fantastic Four: First Steps will take place. Better yet; he could have a small tease on that movie, meaning we could see his introduction to the MCU as early as next year.

Other characters reported to return in Avengers: Doomsday are Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange, and the Fantastic Four themselves. Considering Spidey and Marvel's First Family have an extensive history in comic books, it would be interesting to see how their relationship pans out on the big screen. It's an interesting prospect for sure - one we hope turns into a reality.

Speaking of possible interactions, Spider-Man crossing paths with Robert Downey Jr's Doctor Doom could be a huge deal. After all, the two actors had a great relationship when the latter played the role of Iron Man in the Infinity Saga of the MCU. With that in mind, Peter's reaction to watching the face of his former mentor as one of the multiverse's most ruthless villains would be interesting. Maybe he could be so blindsided by Tony Stark's image that he decides to join Doom's forces. After all, another rumor claims Spidey will be a villain in Avengers: Secret Wars. Perhaps a mix of the symbiote along watching Rober Downey Jr's return will accomplish that shocking goal. Whatever the case may be, we can't wait to see what is in store for Tom Holland's Peter Parker.
