Tobey Maguire and Hugh Jackman could meet in a Marvel movie under one condition

Hugh Jackman and Tobey Maguire are the faces of the franchises that popularized superhero movies. Now, it seems they could finally meet under one condition.

One of the best things about the Marvel Cinematic Universe is all the different superheroes coming together on the big screen. The feeling of finally watching Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor meet up for the first time during The Avengers (2012) is simply unforgettable. As time has gone by, these crossovers have only gotten bigger and crazier, and yet it seems the best is (fortunately) still to come. The two faces responsible for popularizing superhero stories on the big screen may finally interact in an upcoming Marvel movie, and that idea alone couldn't make us more excited. However, there's one requirement for that to happen.

Tobey and Hugh's would need to be meaningful if it were to happen

As revealed by Alex Perez on a Discord QA via The Cosmic Circus, Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker and Hugh Jackman's Logan could interact on the big screen but only if it's meaningful to the movie's story. Marvel knows this is a long-awaited moment by fans, so they aren't aiming for a "one-and-done" sequence. Instead, the two heroes need to work together like the Resistance group in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Furthermore, Alex also reveals more "legacy character" interactions are on the table, but he didn't specify between who. However, the Discord QA also let us know that Nicholas Cage's Ghost Rider and Ioan Gruffudd's Mr. Fantastic are also being eyed for a role in Avengers: Doomsday or Secret Wars, so perhaps they could be potential candidates. Besides - given that Gambit survived the events of Deadpool & Wolverine - chances are that is also the case for Wesley Snipes' Blade and Jennifer Garner's Elektra.

There's a world where Blade, Elektra, the original Mr. Fantastic, Ghost Rider, Wolverine, and the original Spider-Man meet on the big screen. Best of all; it doesn't seem like that goal is completely out of reach. It's important to remember Tobey Maguire himself has expressed interest in returning to an MCU movie after Spider-Man: No Way Home. Besides, Hugh Jackman is already back in action as Logan, which means he'll probably have to play the part until he's 90 (or at least, that's what Deadpool jokingly says). Now, the only question remaining is: How will all these different heroes come together? After all, they come from different universes which means they can't currently interact with each other. Well, there's a clever solution that Marvel could pull off.

According to reliable insider Daniel Richtman, every movie after Avengers: Doomsday and before Avengers: Secret Wars will take place in Battleworld; an amalgamation of all Marvel realities. If that were to be the case, then it would be the perfect excuse to see these iconic legacy heroes finally unite since they would all be in the same place. Furthermore, it would give Marvel the perfect opportunity to soft-reboot its franchise after Battleworld is no more and everything returns to "normal". Just like Miles Morales switched from living in the Ultimate Universe to Earth-616 after Secret Wars in comic book pages, perhaps the X-Men could do the same on the big screen - kicking off the Mutant saga in the MCU.

Possibilities are endless with the multiverse, and it seems everything will begin with the meetup between Hugh Jackman's Logan and Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man.
