Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will be coming to a new platform
New York Comic Con is finally underway! Fans all over the world are keeping their eyes peeled for breaking news regarding their favorite superheroes and characters across all mediums including movies, comic books, TV series, and, of course, video games. Last year Insomniac Games released Marvel's Spider-Man 2 exclusively for the PS5 to great critical acclaim and smashing commercial success. As a result, players around the world wondered if Insomniac's title would ever arrive on other consoles. Well, that day is finally here!
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is coming to PC
During the Marvel Games Special Presentation at New York Comic Con, it was announced Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is finally coming to PC. Insomniac's latest adventure took the world by storm when it first launched for the PS5 back on October 20, 2023. Since then, it has been regarded as one of the best superhero games ever created - going toe-to-toe with the likes of Batman: Arkham City and Arkham Knight. Peter and Miles' traversal systems are so exhilarating you'll rarely use fast-travel in the open-world map, and the combat will keep you on the edge of your seat at all times. So it comes as great news that more fans will be able to experience this spectacular title.
You can already wishlist Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on Steam, and it has a release date of January 30, 2025. Furthermore, there are a few pre-order bonuses that include:
- Arachknight Suit early unlock for Peter with three color variants
- Shadow-Spider Suit early unlock for Miles with three color variants
- Web Grabber gadget early unlock
- 3 Skill Points
In 2021, Nixxes Software officially joined the PlayStation family to create ports of many iconic games. They've been responsible for creating the PC version of Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut, Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition, and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, among others. It's clear the studio has a lot of previous experience, meaning Marvel's Spider-Man 2 port is definitely in a safe pair of hands.
At the time of writing this, no system requirements have been officially revealed. But given it's not long before the game finally hits digital stores, that information should come sooner rather than later. Finally, it's worth highlighting players will have to create and link a PlayStation Network Account to experience this single-player game, which can certainly raise some eyebrows. However, that has been the norm with most PlayStation ports to this point.
