The first trailer for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man will reportedly release next week

According to reliable insider Alex Perez, the first trailer for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man will be released during D23 Brazil, which is set to take place from November 8 to 10, 2024. It might be surprising to learn it's coming so soon, but it's important to remember we're less than three months away from finally watching the animated series. Disney needs to start marketing the project ASAP. After all, there's still much we don't know about it.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man was initially going to explore the wall-crawler's origin in the MCU, which is a story we haven't seen in Tom Holland's movies yet. However, that concept quickly changed, and now the series will feature a brand new version of the iconic hero disconnected from other Marvel projects. However, that shift in plans raises the question of what kind of narrative will be told. Is it still an origin story? Then why is there a prequel comic series that will focus on Peter Parker's earliest days as Spider-Man? Will there be a time jump until he's deeper into his crime-fighting career? Well, I guess we'll have to wait and see.

The main problem is that we still don't know what kind of series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is shaping up to be. We have a few pieces of the puzzle, such as the fact that Norman Osborn will be Peter's mentor and that Doctor Strange and Daredevil will have important roles to play. But beyond that, not much is officially known. It won't be until the release of the full-length trailer that many of our doubts will finally be answered, so it's nice to know that day is nearly here.

While it can be a letdown to know Tom Holland's origin story won't be explored in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man as originally intended, it's also exciting to know the series will be free from any narrative restrictions that the MCU may impose. That way, we can truly have a street-level story that acts as a nice refresher between the multiverse madness currently happening on the big screen. And who knows? Maybe there will be a few creative changes to the formula that can be a hit with fans.
