Will Secret Wars bring us a Spider-Man team-up title?

A lot of Secret Wars speculation is being banded about as we now know for sure that the Ultimate and Standard Marvel universes are going to smash together forming a new Marvel continuity called the Battleworld which will be an amalgamation of both universes. The current Spider-Man storyline event ‘Spider-Verse’ seems loosely related with its exploration of the multiverse but where will the Spider-Verse leave all of the current Spider-Men and Spider-Women going into Secret Wars?

More from Spider-Man

Depending on what happens in the latter stages of the Spider-Verse we’ll have several different Spider-Men and Spider-Women still standing, from Peter Parker’s Amazing Spider-Man, Spider-Girl (Anya Corazon), Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew), Silk, Spider-Gwen, Spider-Man 2099, Ultimate Spider-Man (Miles Morales), Ultimate Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew), and that’s just the ‘main’ Spiders.

So how will all of these different Spiders fit in to the Secret Wars storyline when universes collide. Well, at the moment there’s still a doubt that all of these different Spider-Man alterations will survive the Spider-Verse, let alone the collision of universe’s but let’s just presume that they all make it to Secret Wars.

We know that some of the ‘stages’ of the Battleworld are possibly Spider related thanks to Marvel’s interactive map with Spider-Island, Arachnia and The Regency all appearing to be Spider-Man related. Spider-Island is a pre-existing storyline, Arachnia is anyone’s guess, and The Regency appears to be referring to a Peter Parker who is still happily married to Mary Jane Watson.

But that still doesn’t explain how the likes of Miguel O’ Hara and Miles Morales will fit in. But fear not Spider-Fan’s, I think I have the perfect answer to this conundrum. A Spider-Man and Spider-Woman team-up title … Essentially Disney’s Web-Warriors in a comic book, with all of the main Spider-Men and Spider-Women working together as part of a team, like an arachnid-based Avengers.

It’s really simple, you have all of the surviving Spiders reconvene in the 616 universe after the events of the Spider-Verse celebrating a job well done in stopping the Inheritors (presumably) only to discover that their world/universe is about to change forever leading them to decide to stick together some more as it worked out so well last time.
