NYCC 2014: Marvel also announces Spider-Gwen monthly solo series!

We have news of another good thing to come out of Marvel’s NYCC 2014 panel! (Thanks Superior Spider-Talk) Marvel has also announced along with a Silk ongoing monthly series, due to popularity they are bringing back Spider-Gwen for her own stories in her own universe. That’s right the overwhelming positivity for her character (I’m a bit mixed on the art, otherwise it’s good!) shows she’s going to start kicking butt in her own universe.

Jason Latour will return to write the adventures, as well as Robbi Rodriguez who will return to perform art duties again! Marvel is full of teases because in February 2015 she also has her own monthly series after the ‘Spider-Verse’ in which Gwen comes back to her own dimension from one beyond and is left to deal with the aftermath, (“what’s left of the Spider-Verse”) this has me seriously thinking EVERYTHING is truly going to change it’s going to bring everyone to their knees. We’ll just have to see. But I’m a bit scared by that.

The concept is to bring Gwen back as a super-hero changed by the Spider-Verse, she’s a wanted criminal in which her dad has to make key choices either to bring her in or not to bring her in. With the heat rising Gwen is unsure of how to handle the two sides of her life. The more she focuses on Spider-Woman; the more she neglects how she feels as a normal teenager.

She seems to really be questioning herself and her judgement to be a protector of this city. Similar to how Peter has in the past. Marvel has yet to announce any sort of teases but they have released cover art!! Look out for Gwen Stacy as Spider-Woman in the next few months to come!! Although whether or not the comic will be called Spider-Gwen is a mystery!
