Venom symbiote’s origin to be revealed in Guardians of the Galaxy comic

Venom has been one of Spider-Man’s best, most popular villain but to this day no-one knows anything about where the symbiote actually came from, or more specifically what it really is. Luckily the Guardians of the Galaxy are just about ready to spill the beans on the Venom Symbiote’s origins as the Guardians, with Flash Thompson’s Agent Venom (the current wearer of the symbiote suit) are set to visit the Venom symbiote’s home planet, or in other words go to where it came from.
IGN reports “Readers first encountered the symbiote costume in the Secret Wars crossover that pitted Marvel’s greatest heroes and villains against each other as part of a cosmic game by the god-like Beyonder. During the story, Spider-Man’s costume got damaged so he went to what he thought was a “costume-making machine” and became covered in a new black-and-white suit. It turned out to be an evil alien symbiote, which Spider-Man rejected, only for it to wind up on bitter rival Eddie Brock, and thus Venom was born. Believe it or not, the purpose of the “costume-making machine” and why it contained a symbiote was never addressed.”
The three issue arc will be entitled ‘Planet of the Symbiotes’ and will be written by popular Ultimate Spider-Man writer Brian Michael Bendis, with art provided by an artist new to the title Valerio Schiti. The arc has already been teased in a previous issue of Guardians of the Galaxy where Flash was on an alien world and received an unpleasant reaction from the residents of the planet. The arc is set to start in Guardians of the Galaxy #21 so be sure to pick it up.
