Sam Raimi villains appear in Amazing Spider-Man 2 promotional DVD

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Target exclusive Sinister Six teaser has been an interesting video for so many reasons. It teased two potential villains for the Sinister Six line-up with the Vulture and Doctor Octopus. It teased the surprise return of Norman Osborn by bringing back the ‘head in a box’ and believe it or not folks there’s yet another reason why the 31 second long video is interesting.

And that reason is that because I believe that this video is the first time that the Sam Raimi trilogy has been acknowledged by an Amazing Spider-Man 2 promotional video as several of Sam Raimi’s villains appear in the video. Take a look and see which Sam Raimi characters you can spot.

That’s right you can see the Sandman, Venom and Sam Raimi’s Green Goblin and Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus, who recently stated that he would love to return to making Spider-Man films. I have little to no information about what this means and to be honest it’s probably just nothing, but cross-promotion between the original Spider-Man films and the reboot can’t be a bad thing.
