A while ago Marvel announced a new event that led many to believe that a potential complete reboot of Marvel’s comic-book franchise could be on the cards. As you can see below the teaser image has two planets near collision which has resulted in the speculation that Marvel could be bringing their standard 616 universe and their Ultimate universes together with only one remaining.
If this is the case and Marvel are combining their 616 and Ultimate universes, or they are just doing away with one (let’s be honest it’d be the Ultimate Universe if they were going to do that) then it could mean severe repurcussions for us Spider-Fans as the fate of Miles Morales or Miguel O’Hara would be up in the air or it could mean that all three Spider-Men will be running around in the same universe going forward?
But who am I kidding, this is an Avengers event and will only slightly involve Spider-Man right? Wrong! It’s such a big thing that Brian Michael Bendis seems to have teased it in Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man #3
If the crazy guy dresses as Ms. Marvel getting arrested is a reliable source of information then it seems that two earths are converging, which would support the predominant theory, with only one remaining, which would seem to suggest an end to the Ultimate universe. So it’s looking more and more likely that this is going to happen, so I guess we’ll have to wait and see where this leaves our Ultimate Spider-Man Miles Morales.
