Every year McAfee anti-virus publishes a top ten list of superheroes. But this isn’t an opinion poll telling us which superhero is the favourite amongst anti-virus users this is a list that reveals something altogether more sinister, something that would be befitting of the world’s worst supervillains. This top ten list is actually a list of superhero google searches most likely to land you on a site that tests positive for online threats.
mis-asia.com reports “This is according to McAfee’s second annual study that analyses what superhero search led to the most risky websites using McAfee’s SiteAdvisor site ratings. This research is based on which superheroes are kryptonite on the web and result in bad links, including viruses, malware and sites laden with malicious software designed to steal passwords and personal information.”
So let’s take a look at the list
Spider-Man has ranked in fifth whilst Superman has topped the list, Thor came in second whilst Wonder Woman and Aquaman (what?) came in at joint-third. X-Men’s Wolverine came in fourth whilst Batman, Black Widow, Captain America, Green Lantern and Ghost Rider finished the rest of the list.
