Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are awesome, this is fact.
In fact just when you think the couple most recently seen on-screen as the best thing about Amazing Spider-Man 2 couldn’t get any better, they go and once again one-up themselves off-screen with this fantastic publicity stunt using the paparazzi to raise awareness for some worthy causes.
But honestly it’s amazing to see two popular celebrities managing the constant media attention they get so well, instead of shying away from the cameras, getting angry and potentially hitting one of the cameremen, or breaking down and crying Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone instead hide half of their faces with placards highlighting worthy charitable causes, so when the paparazzi snap the couple, they’ll also be raising awareness for charities.
With that in mind, Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield probably want as many people to see the photo as possible, because it’s spreading the word about good causes. So I’m going to do my charitable duty and join in!
Emma’s card said “Good morning! We were eating and saw a group of guys with cameras outside. And so we thought, let’s try this again. We don’t need the attention, but these wonderful organizations do:” and then an arrow pointed towards Garfield’s card which listed URL’s for Youth Mentoring, Autism Speaks,Worldwide Orphans Foundation and Gilda’s Club followed by the cheery “Here’s to the stuff that matters. Have a great day!”
Good work Spider-Man and Gwen!
