Disney reveals Spider-Man play set for Disney Infinity at E3

Earlier I posed the question that Disney Infinity would be including Spider-Man despite not owning the rights to the character (at least in terms of cinematic rights anyway, I’m clueless as to how the video game rights work) and it looks like I was resoundingly right as the latest news coming out of E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) regarding Disney’s Disney Infinity game is of a Spider-Man play-set being released.

stitchkingdom.com reports that the Spider-Man play-set will include a storyline which features Spider-Man’s arch-nemesis The Green Goblin capturing Venom to extract and clone symbiotes in order to destroy Spidey and S.H.I.E.L.D. But he doesn’t do it alone, Goblin hires Mysterio as his right hand man and second-in-command to wreak havoc on the Marvel universe.

As most of you will know, each ‘game’ comes with a playset of character statuettes that subsequently unlock a playable character in-game. With the Spider-Man playset not only do you get Spidey himself but you get a whole host of Marvel characters as well with Nick Fury, Iron Fist, Nova and Venom.

Here’s the announcement trailer for the Spider-Man play-set
