Dane DeHaan’s Green Goblin

During a recent interview with Cinemablend Dane DeHaan was asked if knowing that your character might appear again in the future forced the young actor to adapt his performance with the idea that the Green Goblin would be back firmly in his mind. However like a true politician DeHaan answered the question with a completely different answer.

Obviously this is because he doesn’t want to say “Yes I did change my acting because the Green Goblin will be back” because that will confirm that we’ll be seeing Harry Osborn’s Green Goblin again and I guess a this early stage so soon after the movie nothing is set in stone yet.

However what DeHaan did mention was Sony clocking onto the fact that the bad guys in these superhero films are getting their own followings. “When we were making the film we didn’t know, we didn’t know what the future was going to be. But what’s come out of this film is that people are leaving and they’re not just on Spider-Man’s side, they’re siding with also the bad-guys”

He then references ‘Twilight’ esque Team Jacob and Edward names for Electro and Green Goblin’s character “And there’s like ‘Team Electro’ and there’s the Osborn Army. And people are coming out and they’re excited about them.” To be honest he’s not wrong, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki is arguably the most popular character in the entire Avengers franchise and he’s been the main villain throughout.

Harry goes on to say “And I think that Sony has realised that the bad guys are starting to get their own fan base, their own following, and that’s why the universe is expanding. But when we first made the film like that I didn’t know it was coming.” Which I guess is his way of saying ‘I have no idea if I’ll be back now, and I didn’t when I started’

So which side are you on, are you a Spider-Fan or do you play for Team Electro, or are you part of Osborn’s Army?
